Carly acquired an ease in the courtroom from working in high pressure situations in criminal court shortly after graduating from law school, first as a magistrate and later as an advocate. A native of Tipton County, Carly began her practice in Virginia due to family commitments. In Virginia, Carly served as a Magistrate in the Office of the Executive Secretary for the state Supreme Court, presiding over bail applications and issuing criminal warrants and temporary detentions. Carly left the bench for a position with the Public Defender’s office in Hampton, Virginia, where she tried numerous criminal matters.
In addition to her criminal practice, Carly’s civil litigation practice includes claims ranging from personal injury, premises liability, class action, and wrongful death, to business litigation and fraud in state and federal courts.
She is a National Crime Information Center certified operator and has served as a law enforcement crisis team presenter.
Carly brings the same commitment to her clients in civil and criminal matters: “It’s about helping people,” she says. “My job is to right a wrong. My goal is to ferret out the truth.”
Carly’s Tipton County roots have brought her home; she is based in the firm’s Covington office.
