Melanie Dunlap is one of the few attorneys in the Mid-South who practices Equine Law. Growing up with horses has given her an extensive knowledge of this field, which is an asset when serving in a legal capacity on various equine issues, including premises liability, personal injury, matters involving boarding facilities and training, equine sales, various contractual arrangements and other equine activities. Ms. Dunlap is also active in increasing awareness for these issues, having written an article, entitled “An Introduction to Equine Liability Issues in Tennessee,” for the Mid-South Horse Review, the MidSouth’s Equine Newsmagazine, explaining equine liability. Ms. Dunlap has also had a featured profile in Memphis Daily News’ Memphis Law Talk.
Ms. Dunlap also concentrates her practice in the areas of general civil litigation, including personal injury and premises liability, business litigation, medical malpractice, and domestic relations. She represents apartment complexes and small businesses, handling matters involving personal injury and lease disputes. Ms. Dunlap represents individuals in various matters in Family Law as well. She also represents healthcare facilities and individual physicians in medical malpractice cases.
Outside of practicing law, Ms. Dunlap competes in triathlons and is an Ironman. Both in training for triathlons and in representing her clients, she applies the same dedication and passion in reaching the best result possible.
