G. RICE BYARS, JR., devotes his practice to probate matters, asset protection and estate planning with an emphasis on the structuring of complicated and large estates, including the drafting of trusts (domestic, off shore, generation-skipping, grantor retained annuity, qualified personal residence, charitable, living, and insurance), family limited partnerships, private foundations, durable powers of attorney and living wills.

Mr. Byars is a frequent speaker for various charitable and civic organizations. He is a member of the Memphis, Tennessee (Director, Tax, Probate and Trust Law Section) and American (Section on Taxation) Bar Associations; Estate Planning Council of Memphis; Planned Giving Council of Memphis; The Economic Club of Memphis; and Professional Advisors Council of The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis.  In law school, he was a member of the Memphis State University Law Review.
