J. ALAN HANOVER concentrates his practice in the area of civil
litigation, with particular emphasis on complex business-related matters. He
has tried hundreds of jury and non-jury cases over the past fifty-two years
in nearly all fields, including personal injury, securities, banking,
condemnation, domestic matters and criminal defense.
Mr. Hanover served three terms in the House of Representatives of the state
of Tennessee. During his tenure, he was Chairman of the Judiciary Committee,
was a member of the Legislative Counsel Committee and was elected by the
members of the Tennessee House of Representatives to prosecute an
impeachment proceeding against a judge from Hamilton County, Tennessee.
Mr. Hanover is a fellow American College of Trial Lawyers and a Bar
Foundation Member, American Inns of Court (Retired). He is a member of the
Memphis, Tennessee and American Bar Associations. He was on the Board of
Trustees for Tennessee Military Institute from 1962 – 1971. In law school he
was the Case Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. In college he was a member
of Phi Beta Kappa.
